Al-InfitaarAl-Inshiqaaq

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

83:1

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ

Woe to the defrauders.

83:2

الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ

Those who, when they take a measure from people, they take in full.

83:3

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَوْ وَزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ

But when they measure or weigh to others, they cheat.
4
83:4

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ

Do these not know that they will be resurrected?

83:5

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

For a Great Day?

83:6

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds?

83:7

كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ

Not at all. The record of the wicked is in Sijjeen.
8
83:8

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ

But how can you know what Sijjeen is?

83:9

كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ

A numerical book.
10
83:10

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers.
11
83:11

الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ

Those who deny the Day of Reckoning.
12
83:12

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ

But none denies it except the sinful aggressor.

83:13

إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

When Our revelations are recited to him, he says, “Legends of the ancients.”

83:14

كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

Not at all. Their hearts have become corroded by what they used to earn.

83:15

كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ

Not at all. On that Day, they will be screened from their Lord.

83:16

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ

Then they will roast in Hell.

83:17

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

Then it will be said, “This is what you used to deny.”

83:18

كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ

No indeed; the record of the righteous is in Elliyyeen.
19
83:19

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ

But how can you know what Elliyyoon is?

83:20

كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ

A numerical book.

83:21

يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ

Witnessed by those brought near.
22
83:22

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ

Indeed, the righteous will be amid bliss.

83:23

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ

On thrones, looking on.
24
83:24

تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ

You will recognize on their faces the radiance of bliss.
25
83:25

يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيقٍ مَخْتُومٍ

They will be given to drink a sealed wine.

83:26

خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ

Whose seal is musk—this is what competitors should compete for.

83:27

وَمِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ

Its mixture is of Tasneem.

83:28

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ

A spring from which those brought near drink.

83:29

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ

Those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.
30
83:30

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ

And when they passed by them, they would wink at one another.
